چکیده

Although Mesobuthus scorpions in China have become endangered in recent years, they are largely underinvestigated. Even the baseline data on their distributions are lacking. Here the geographical distributions of two Mesobuthus scorpions in China are provided through a combined study of systematic field surveys and GIS-based ecological niche modeling using 227 surveyed point occurrence data across an area of ca. 280

A new species of Buthus Leach, 1815 from Cyprus (Scorpiones, Buthidae)

During the last decade, several contributions to the genus Buthus Leach, 1815 (family Buthidae) and especially to the 'Buthus occitanus' species complex were proposed. These contributions led to the definition of several species, previously considered only as subspecies or varieties, and also to the description of new species. In the present study, the questionable presence of the genus Buthus ...

Evidence for recombination in scorpion mitochondrial DNA (Scorpiones: Buthidae).

There has been very little undisputed evidence for recombination in animal mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) provided so far. Previous unpublished results suggestive of mtDNA recombination in the scorpion family Buthidae, together with cytological evidence for a unique mechanism of mitochondrial fusion in that family, prompted us to investigate this group in more details. First, we sequenced the comple...

Comparison of the predictive performance of two species distribution models GAM and GBM for Thymus kotschyanus in Middle Taleghan Rangelands

In this study, the prediction of Thymus kotschyanus habitat distribution was investigated using two methods of generalized additive regression model (GAM) and Boosted regression trees (BRT) in central part of Taleghan rangelands. Data on vegetation and habitat factors such as topography, climate, geology and soil were collected. For data preparation, samples were taken from the field to record ...
